Selena believes wholeheartedly that yoga is a vehicle through which we can embody our fullest potential in all areas of our lives, and contribute in an increasingly positive way to our families and communities. She has been teaching locally since 2012, when she completed Woodstock Yoga's 200 Hour Teacher Training. She is now teaching at Shakti Yoga Woodstock, Woodstock Yoga, Shakti Yoga Saugerties, Shakti at the MAC, Menla Mountain Retreat Center, and 28 West Gym, as well as privately. Selena is currently completing Shakti Yoga's 500 Hour Advanced Teacher Training, and in addition to teaching, maintains a dedicated personal practice as she continues to study all aspects of yoga. The practice of yoga is teaching her to stay balanced and open and joyous, as she strives to act with love in every situation and gradually become more able to make sense of life on this planet. Selena aspires to be an agent of joy, optimism, and reverence for life. Her classes are informative, exploratory, and fun; designed to challenge students while leaving them feeling nourished, balanced, and rejuvenated. Her teaching style is light-hearted and playful, incorporating both intelligent vinyasa and held postures with detailed breath and alignment instruction to help students develop stronger connection within themselves through movement and concentration.
