I am a professional Iyengar Yoga teacher from Tehran, Iran. I took my first Iyengar yoga class more than two decades ago at the age of ten and ever since yoga has been a constant source of strength and inspiration in my life. Through yoga, I have had the opportunity to travel widely, including several times to the RIMYI Centre in Pune, India, where I experienced first-hand the light of Guru ji, Iyengar, and his family.
My first teacher, Mahyar Raz, transformed my understanding of yoga forever with her profound knowledge of anatomy and yogic philosophy. I have attended more than eight hundred hours of intensive workshops led by Mr. Faeq Biria, a world-renowned yogi based in Paris, from whom I earned my first certificate (introductory 1) in 2006. Since moving to Cambridge in 2014, I have been a student of Sasha Perryman, moderator and assessors for the UK Iyengar Association, who helped me prepare for my Junior Level III assessment and whose humility and dedication to a life of yoga is an inspiration to all.
