Instructor Shannon Middleton began practicing yoga in 1998
when she started taking classes at the Experimental College at the
University of Washington where she was a student. She began
teaching yoga in 2002 at the Mukilteo YMCA after ending a career
as a newspaper editor.
Shannon is trained in the Iyengar and Anusara styles of yoga,
having completed two teacher-trainings at the Seattle Center for
Yoga and Yoga Centers as well as several specialty seminars including,Therapeutic Uses of Yoga and Seeing Understanding Bodies and Yoga for Lower Back Care. She is trained to work with cancer patients, pregnant students and seniors.
Shannon chose to open her own studio after teaching up to 15
classes a week at various gyms and studios, with some of those classes exceeding 60 students per class. She saw a great need for more individualized attention and more affordable classes. Her goal for Tranquil Turtle Studio is to create a relaxing environment that will promote student growth.
