Shannon originally tried yoga to shake up her exercise routine, and she has never looked back. A lifelong sports enthusiast, she sought an exercise program for enjoyment, but it had to challenge her and provide positive physical and mental results. Yoga has done just that. Studying at Sani Yoga under Georg & Maggie since 2009, Shannon found her challenge. Practice energized her and she became a certified instructor. She has taught regularly at Sani Yoga, substituted at BODY of Santa Fe, and instructed academic, corporate, and social organization sessions. Shannon loves the diverse possibilities with yoga practice, and feels that anyone, at any level of fitness, can benefit from it.
Shannon’s enthusiasm for yoga is infectious. Her passion for incorporating her knowledge of anatomy and physiology helps her students achieve a sense of fitness and well-being through their practice. Foremost is her emphasis on ensuring proper alignment and balance for safe execution of postures, and communicating this to her students in clear and effective ways. As a scholar of Western medicine, Shannon strives to mesh her knowledge of the body and its processes with the tremendous benefits that the practice of yoga is capable of bringing to each of us.
