Shannon, E-RYT 500, has been whole-heartedly devoted to the study of yoga since beginning with a few video-guided yoga postures in her living room in 2001. Upon moving to Minneapolis in 2005, she began practicing primarily vinyasa yoga with real live teachers at real live yoga studios. Shannon’s first Yoga Teacher Training was in 2009 through CorePower Yoga. This first teacher training led her to Ali Certain and Anusara yoga as well as William Prottengeier and Iyengar yoga--she continues to study extensively with teachers from the Anusara and Iyengar traditions. Following her first training, she has taken advanced trainings and sought out the teaching of Christina Sell, Darren Rhodes, Desiree Rumbaugh, Jason Crandell, Annie Carpenter, Seane Corn, Manouso Manos, and Sianna Sherman. In 2014 Shannon completed her 500 Hour Teacher Training from Noah Mazé in Los Angeles. Shannon’s passion for teaching yoga is rooted in her devotion for continued study of yoga: the best yoga teachers are always first and foremost devoted students of the practice. Shannon’s classes make yoga accessible yet challenging to everyone, where students can find a joyful and loving connection to conscious alignment, movement and breath, and a connection to the Highest in themselves and in others. Shannon has led Yoga Teacher Trainings, coached personal practice immersions, and mentored many new yoga teachers. When not practicing and teaching yoga, Shannon is a concert pianist, performing on concert stages all over the globe. Shannon is grateful for so many things: for the many inspiring teachers and mentors who have encouraged her, for her loving husband and two dogs, and for the transformative, empowering practice of yoga.
