Shareshten Senior, E-RYT 200
Shareshten began her yoga practice at Jaya Yoga in Brooklyn with a free class offered by
the studio. It was love at first pose. Shareshten gave up her personal trainer and Gym membership to delve further into this moving awareness that had her more sore inside and out than any machine or trainer ever did. Shareshten sees yoga as consistently arising awareness to elements of the self that have existed, but were never consciously tended to by the busy monkey mind. As we get deeper into our practice, we peel away the layers of awareness that inevitably start to yield our minds to our boundless seed of wisdom, known as our heart.
Shareshten earned her 200 Hour RYT Certification in Hatha Yoga from Yandara Yoga Institute in Baja, Mexico. There she lived with nature for 26 days spending the better parts of each day in meditation, Pranayama, silence, Asana, singing Kirtan, planting food in the organic garden for future yogis, and deepening her Spiritual Awareness. It was a life changing experience that brought her back to the "real world" with a jolt. Upon returning from her humble tent where she woke and fell asleep to the sounds of crashing waves on the beach, to her lavish Park Slope Brooklyn apartment, she realized her life couldn't continue the same way. Shareshten quit her Bartending job and spent her time doing yoga, meditating, bike riding and bartering yoga lessons for guitar lessons in Brooklyn. In September, Shareshten decided she needed a simple and less expensive existence to begin her practice of teaching yoga. She moved to Jensen Beach to be with her father and begin teaching at Geo Yoga in Stuart. Currently, Shareshten teaches all over the You can find her teaching at Gratifly Festival & Art Outside Festival. Full Schedule coming soon!

Shareshten on yoga:
The inevitably life-changing practice of yoga is the most simple way I know to touch into stillness, which is relative to our ideas of loud. I explore the seeming duality of our existence through Hatha, Yin, Vinyasa, Power, and Restorative Yoga. I am a thematic teacher that finds pleasure in the interlacing of philosophical wisdom with the art of sequencing & silence. I have been told I have the most soothing voice by almost everyone I have ever taught. I see each class I teach as a sacred gift and opportunity to become more present with myself and those around me. I look at each student as a divine ally in the great mystery of existence. I can never say enough how much I love my teachers. I am so grateful to have studied closely with Carla Stangenberg, Scott Feinberg, Jaye Bryan, Sarah Powers, and Valerie D’Ambrosio. I have had the great priviledge of studying more moderately with Sean Corne, Richard Freeman, Shiva Rae, The Dalai Lama, and Shree Shree Ravi Shankar. There are so many others who are not mentioned and ultimately every being is my teacher. So I thank you from the bottom of my heart for being who you are right where you are. May we find more time to play in nature, to appreciate our bodies and minds for the amazing instruments they are and to free our spirits so that the world can know peace.
