I was attracted to Iyengar yoga because of its focus on alignment and precision. It is a form of pure and traditional yoga balancing body and mind. It is an excellent way to gain flexibility, fitness and mental well being. Iyengar yoga is an excellent complement for those who undertake other forms of exercise; or even for those who undertake none at all!
The Iyengar method of training and teaching is one of the most thorough and rigorous in the world. The teaching qualification is very detailed and comprehensive. Iyengar teachers are trained to the very highest of standards and ensure that classes are suitable for all levels of fitness and ability. The use of props and blocks within the poses (I can supply) allows people of different levels of fitness and flexibility to take part and to progress at their own natural pace.
