Sheri has been a certified fitness instructor since 1990 and enjoys it so much she considers it a hobby instead of a job. Her focus over the years has shifted towards the mind/body/spirit approach to fitness. She believes when trying to reach health and fitness goals it is important to work the body and mind as a whole unit rather than separate entities.
People who train with Sheri know her as an intense "play your edge" teacher, but also as a caring one. When you want to challenge yourself she will be there to encourage you, when you need to pull back and ease up she will guide you to tune into your body and listen to what it is telling you.
Sheri is an Instructor Member of the Pilates Method Alliance. She is a certified pilates instructor through The PhysicalMind® Institute, trained to teach on the universal reformer, cadillac (trapeze table), wunda chair, matwork, and standing pilates series. She has been teaching pilates since 2002.
Certified to teach yoga, YogicArts(TM) and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) through the Yoga Alliance, Sheri has studied with many world renowned teachers and has been leading yoga classes since 1996.
Sheri completed her Thai Yoga Bodywork practitioner training and certification level 1 & 2 to enhance the yoga assists she gives during class as well as offering individual thai yoga sessions.
Belly dancing was something Sheri did with her sister as a way to spend time together and have fun. Now, she teaches and performs tribal style belly dancing to spread the joy of dancing to other women. She has attended many workshops to learn this beautiful art form including classes with Fat Chance Belly Dance founder Carolena Nericcio, Megha Gavin of Devyani Dance Company, and Bellydance Superstar, Moria.
