Growing up in India yoga has always been a part of my life. I started a regular asana practice around 2004. Initially I did it for general well being, then for fitness and mental clarity. A few years ago recovery from a health issue made me fully realize the power of yoga, and gave me a whole new perspective on the practice.
I completed my 200 hour and 300 hour certification at goodyoga in the Krishnamacharya lineage. In Chennai, I study with DV Shridhar (Founder of Yoga Raksanam, & former Director of Yoga studies at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram).
In my classes we will work on finding physical & mental balance through movement, alignment, and focus. I come from a tradition that respects the unique needs of each and every person. I bring that to you, and will offer you opportunities to develop a personal connection with your asana.
I live with my husband and 2 cats in Greenpoint, and I’m also an artist and an art director.
