Sonam is the Founder and Director of Himalayan Yoga Bliss. Her aim is to help students from various backgrounds and cultures from all around the world to experience the mystical powers of the Himalayas and the inspiration it has bestowed upon Yogis for centuries.
She likes to connect the eastern philosophies of Yoga to the contemporary west. She was born in a devout spiritual Buddhist family and from an early age understood and learnt the concepts of Mantra chanting, Yoga philosophy, the art of Vipassana and Meditation from her grandmother.
Over the years she has trained more than 200 senior yoga teachers worldwide, and continues to be a devout spiritual practitioner and rigorous student of yoga. Sonam was born into a Buddhist family, with the pillars of her childhood deeply rooted into core Yogic philosophy such as Mantra chanting, rituals, the ancient art of Vipassana and Japa meditation. Her path continued working and traveling in numerous countries, exploring different cultures, human behaviours and the interrelated nature of our experience. After years of exploration abroad, Sonam returned to India in 2013 to begin her life’s project – Himalayan Yoga Bliss.
“The practice of yoga is limitless. Don’t let the interference of your mind limit your experience” – Sonam
