“Yoga is like music. The rhythm of the body, the melody of the mind, and the harmony of the soul create the symphony of life”. BKS Iyengar
This is one of my favorite yoga quotes. Yoga teaches us to reconnect to our bodies through breath and movement and to listen carefully to our ever present voice inside that is never wrong.
Yoga came in to my world a little over seven years ago when I first started taking Bikram and Vinyasa classes in Miami Beach. After a consistent and daily practice, I wanted to learn more and was introduced to The Barkan Method. I completed the Level I and Level II Teacher Trainings with Jimmy Barkan and have been teaching yoga for the past six years. I continue to study and have most recently completed the YogaLife Teacher Training (October 2012) and participated in an intense four day Teacher Training Workshop with Patrick Creelman (November 2013).
I am blessed with two beautiful boys and taught pre-natal yoga during my second pregnancy. A consistent and gentle yoga practice during pregnancy really makes a difference not only on a physical level, but even more so on an emotional level. As you breathe and move with your baby, you have time to connect with your little miracle inside and this connection deepens your bond with your baby.
I believe yoga is an evolution and that no matter where you are in your practice, you can always discover a new depth if you move from a place of Truth “Satya”. I consider it a blessing to share my passion for yoga and pass on the teachings by guiding others through their practice. Yoga has brought me great inner peace and balance in my life and I love being able to inspire others to experience the same.
