As a long term, professional massage therpist, I have witnessed the incredible self healing benefits that a regular yoga practice can have on any one and any age. The transformations in health and all over well-being in my clients, moved my regular exercise routine to a yoga practice of my own. Starting with Astanga, Hatha and Vinyasa Flow, I fell in love with the many styles and variations in the physical practice, as well as deep relaxation and stress relief. From the benefits I personally noticed, as well as the encouragement from an amazing yoga instructor, I decided to train as an instructor, entering into the teacher program at the University of Utah, receiving my yoga teacher certificate in May of 2012. I began teaching 2 classes each week and still continue with these two, weekly. Recently, I have been asked to teach a summer Power One Hour every Friday evening at 6:00pm for We Are Yoga. It's been fun and so great to meet and teach a whole new group of incredible yogis!
I hope to continue to teach yoga as long as I am able and yoga has helped me to continue to feel youthful and strong, more able than I felt even 10 years ago. I know that being active, is the closest thing to a fountain of youth there is and for me, yoga is the water that flows through that fountain. My goal is to bring this gift of yoga to everyone and anyone who wants to find renewed vitality as they grow older.
