Susan became a certified 200 hour Hatha yoga instructor in 2011. She continued her Teacher Training in Vinyasa Flow with Seane Corn in 2012. After returning from a yearlong tour in Afghanistan, she fell in love with other methods of yoga. Restorative, Yin and the YogaWall, which helped her recover from physical limitations.
In 2014, she continued her teacher training with Judith Lasaster in Relax and Renew Restorative, Bernie Clark in Yin Yoga and Bryan Legere in Yoga Wall Level I.
After an amazing 3 week trip to India 2014 for a Shiva Rea Retreat and Jivamukti Immersion with Lady Ruth and Yogeswari, she yearned for more. In September 2014, she started a 500 hour Teacher Training with her beloved teacher, Lisa Rapp and will graduate in May 2015 from My Yoga Spirit.
Susan’s teaching style varies quite a lot, from Vinyasa Flow to Hot, Gentle, Yin, Restorative, and YogaWall while always weaving in focus of body awareness, good alignment and effective breathing.
Yoga has been one of the key transformative forces in her life. It taught her to be present and in her body, to feel compassion and empathy, to be in community and to confront the inner challenges we all have each day of our lives.
She graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor degree and Florida Institute of Technology with a Master's degree.
