Susan is co-founder of the late Leela Yoga, Zurich. Her love of movement started as a child in Switzerland and blossomed while studying dance with Merce Cunningham in New York. But it was at a new yoga studio in Manhattan called Jivamukti that she knew she'd found her true home. In the fifteen years since her intensive study, practice and teaching have deepened her appreciation of yoga's ability to strengthen, empower and heal – starting with her.
Susan's method is strongly rooted in her continued training with modern, intensive, physical practices (Baron Baptiste's Power Vinyasa, and Ana Forrest's renown system), tempered with traditional Tantric wisdom, intention and mindfulness (Rod Stryker's Parayoga). Her current course of personal study expands these practices into the Yoga of Sound, through mantra and chant and Meditation (Dru Yoga).
Susan teaches with quiet, gentle passion. She believes that to be healthy and whole, we need to feel the body, find peace in the heart and experience equanimity in the mind. While you can expect to be physically challenged by her classes, she works with each individual on their own level and teaches from a place of joy and gratitude for the practice of Yoga and its benefits -- both on and off the mat. Her highest goal, for every day, and every class, is that her students leave lighter, stronger and calm.
Susan currently teaches studio, corporate and private classes in Zurich and leads workshops, retreats and teacher trainings in Switzerland, Italy, Spain and the United States.
