Those first instructions I heard attending an Iyengar beginners course when I was 18yrs remained etched in my memory and body. I grew up in the south west of Western Australia and played a lot of sport. During that 10 week introduction to yoga I discovered a lot about my body and the effects of yoga on my mind and emotions that have been the tools that enable me to live a more peaceful life.
I moved to Broome in 1992 and began studying and working as a massage therapist. Practising yoga is an integral part of my own health and wellbeing and so it was a natural progression for me to deepen my yoga practice.
My personal foundation practice is Iyengar, and my yoga classes reflect the focus on alignment and building foundation. With my knowledge and 25 years’ experience as a massage therapist and 7 years of yoga teaching I aim to create a holistic class with emphasis on mindfulness and connection to breath.
Susie is registered with Yoga Alliance as a 500hr RYT, having completed foundation training in Vinyasa/Hatha Flow and Yin Yoga and an advanced training in Yin Fascial Yoga. Susie is also qualified in Yoga for Children and Teenagers
teaching styles include Yin Yoga and a Slow Flow Hatha, Yoga Nidra, Sound Meditation, Voice improv.
