I am the founder and former owner of Ananda Health and Wellness Center, which I owned and operated for about 6 years before selling the business. I have worked in the wellness industry since 2007 and have been certified through Centered City Yoga (500 hour yoga teacher training), the National Strength and Conditioning Association (certified personal trainer), Precision Nutrition (PN1), the Ayurvedic Institute (Ayurvedic Wellness Counselor) and the California College of Ayurveda (Ayurvedic Practitioner).
I began practicing yoga in the early 90s to become more flexible for climbing. Not long after, I discovered the mental benefits as well as the physical benefits of yoga and I’ve been hooked ever since. I began teaching in 2007 after completing my first teacher training. In my personal life as well as in the classroom, I focus on how to efficiently and effectively balance work, play, community service, and fitness in a way that nourishes the body and soul rather than depleting them. I choose to live a full life; full of purpose, compassion, joy, and love. I believe that in order to live life fully with joy we need to treat our bodies, minds, and souls with respect.
Some of the many wonderful teachers I have been honored to study with include yoga anatomy expert, Leslie Kaminoff, D'ana Baptiste, Charolotte Bell, and Scott Moore. I completed trainings in safe alignment with Gina Caputo (ERYT-500), the psychology of change, and Trauma-Informed Yoga with Hala Khouri (, ERYT) as well as Ann Bortz (, E-RYT-500), Sanskrit with Nicolai Bachman, Ayurvedic Health Counselor from the Ayurvedic Institute with Dr. Vasant Lad, a 9 month, full time, intensive program. I am currently enrolled in the California College of Ayurveda as well as an Astrology course with Dr. David Frawley. I believe strongly in continuing to learn, so I continue my studies online with trainings in Yin Yoga with Bernie Clark, Yoga Therapeutics with various teachers, iRest with Richard Miller, The Yoga Sutras with Bhavani Maki, and Yoga Nidra with Rolf Sovik.
