I am a certified Lakshmi Voelker Chair Yoga Teacher (Kripalu Hatha), where you ‘Get Fit Where You Sit!'. Chair Yoga offers an accessible path to wellness for those with disabilities, weight challenges, inflexibility, joint issues, or who cannot get up and down from the floor. Poses are done either sitting on a chair or using the chair for support. Chair Yoga is a gentle form of yoga that uses easy stretches and poses for strengthening, toning, and balance enhancement. Other benefits include relaxing body and mind, and bringing life back into the joints, ligaments and muscles. Many people notice a reduction in pain and that chronic issues have lessened. I also work with left brain/right brain exercises that stimulate the mind for better focus and concentration. Safety is a high priority in my classes; all poses are offered with different levels of flexibility with reminders to do only that which your body is capable of at the time. I also bring fun and laughter in the class because we all need more of that!
