I first discovered yoga in my early twenties when my doctor recommended I start classes to help alleviate the anxiety I was suffering due to bereavement. Within a short space of time everything changed and I instantly loved the way it made me feel. I have practiced varying styles of yoga and in 2012 took my 200 hours teaching course with Sivananda in the Himalayas, completing my 500 hour certificate in Southern India under the guidance of Swami Govindananda, Swami Tattvarupananda and Mani Raman at Sivananda Yoga Vidya Peetham.

My class begins with the practice of pranayama and meditation leading, into a gentle flowing asana practice. A series of postures with variations that are specifically designed to work on all physical and psychic centres of the body, to provide complete flexion of the spine and balance the endocrine, nervous and parasympathetic systems. Leaving you feeling restored and relaxed.

The practice of yoga opens, clarifies, removes energy blocks and helps one to connect to the essence of their true nature – happiness. It requires a focused and disciplined approach to train your mind to go beyond your emotions and bring calm to the over active mind. With long term commitment to the practice you can appreciate the ability to control the mind and transform ones life beyond the mat, beyond reactive emotions to a more gentle, peaceful approach to all that you do, with positive intentions that help guide you thoughout life.

I have spent time living in ashrams in France and India to deepen my knowledge of yoga, teach and work as a Karma Yogi, practicing selfless service. I travel to India whenever I can to continue to learn and be inspired by my teachers, weaving influences into my practice and teaching style.

Morning classes with Tamsin as the sun pours into the yoga room at the Little French Retreat is a wonderful experience. A talented and passionate teacher who understands intuitively how best to assist her students in toning and relaxing the body as well as stilling the mind. Time spent with Tamsin at this beautiful, retreat could not be more highly recommended especially for those seeking the time and space to truely reconnect with themselves.
