Manager | Yoga Teacher
Tanya lives in the Barossa Valley, South Australia, raising four children together with her husband. She is a dedicated yoga practitioner with experience in the traditions of Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Hatha and Restorative yoga.
Tanya initially began yoga as a means of physical wellbeing, but soon discovered the vast resources yoga offers for cultivating and maintaining a sense of wellbeing and balance in our modern often hectic lives. Yoga brought strength, ease, flexibility and joy – physically, mentally, in everyday life.
Tanya has an injury management and rehabilitation consultant background and is undergoing extensive traditional Hatha Yoga study and mentorship with gifted and highly experienced yoga teacher trainers, Sadhana and Keval Pezet, Principals of Shantarasa Yoga. Tanya has also assisted at yoga teacher trainings, workshops and retreats for over 4 years.
Tanya’s training includes 2 trips to India for a profound depth of study and concentrated practice in an environment imbued with the living path of yoga. She is a Level 1 (200hr), Level 2 (300hr) and Level 3 (175hr Post Grad Meditation & Yoga Psychology) certified yoga teacher, and has assisted in an additional 800+hrs of teacher trainings, workshops and retreats.
Classes with Tanya are grounded and explorative incorporating Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga and Yoga Nidra methodologies – cultivating presence, focus, inner stillness and equilibrium through the practice and into daily life.
Tanya is the Founder and Senior teacher at True North Yoga studio in the Barossa Valley and also provides a range of services in Adelaide, the Barossa and surrounds including corporate yoga, private lessons, sporting groups, schools, special events and workshops; having taught for SANFL football players, high schools, businesses and various studios.
