Tara's interest in yoga began in 2004. Since then she has tried various types of yoga, throughout the years noticing the changes in her body as well as the peace of mind she felt after each class. She found Ashtanga in 2010. Tara's lifelong love for psychology and the human mind started her on this inner journey 20 years ago. In turn, forging deeper relationships with her colleagues, students, friends and family.

Tara's dedicated practice began under the guidance of KPJAYI certified teachers Johnny Smith and Tim Miller. She hasrecently spent fifteen months studying with and eight months apprenticing under her teacher, Saraswathi Jois, daughter of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, founder of the Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India. Tara has been teaching yoga and coaching on health + nutrition for the last 5 years. Her interest in yoga began in 2004. Tara's dharma is to teach. She has been a teacher for twenty-two years; the subject matter is what changed. She is devoted to her students and the practice. Tara teaches yoga in a traditional yet playful manner. Her approach is to learn about her students, understand them and guide them individually with love. She is dedicated to the cycle of teaching and learning and to passing on the traditional yoga method as it was taught to her. Tara has been teaching yoga and coaching on health + nutrition for the last 6 years.

Tara has studied, and continues to study with some of Mysore's greatest teachers. Chanting with Vigneshwar Bhat, Yoga Sutras with Jayashree; Yoga Philosophy with Dr. Sri Narasimha; Carnatic Music with Ambaprasad and Ranjini; Ayurveda with Dr. Jayaraj. She has also practiced Vipassana mediation.

Tara has spent time supporting causes like Yoga Gives Back and Sonoma Valley Teen Center's Skills For Life Program where she taught Service, Healthy Cooking and Yoga to high-risk teens for over 3yrs. She has attended several trauma-informed trainings for at-risk youth.

Tara believes, "It only takes 7 seconds to change someones life. Either, I love you or I believe in you. But when you say it, mean it."
