Tara is a yoga teacher for adults, families, teens, youth and children.
She runs Flower Yoga Children's Yoga Teacher Training 95hr level.
She has been studying yoga since 1992 and teaching since 1997.
Tara Rachel Jones, RYT 500, E-RYT 500, RCYT, RCYS
Tara Rachel has been an ongoing student of yoga and yogic life since the early 90’s. She has completed 4 Teacher Training courses since 1996, most recentlywith Tias Little. Since 1997, Tara Rachel’s teaching has been known in the Boston area, as she was both a student and teacher under Boston master teachers, Barbara Benagh and Arthur Kilmurray. Since, 2004 Tara Rachel has studied under Zoe Stewart.
Deepening the understanding of embodiment and yoga led her to The School for Body Mind Centering to study infant developmental movement, somatic anatomy and its relationship to yoga. Over the past 10 years, Tara Rachel has enriched her studies with private courses and workshops in anatomy and physiology with Yaron Gal Carmel, Tom Myers, Andrea Olson and others. Tara Rachel is also a certified Zen Shiatsu Therapist.
Tara Rachel’s classes are unique and flowing, yet, formed and detailed in postural alignment and the breath. With the inspiration of her studies, Tara’s classes are rich with subtle depth and tailored to meet the student’s needs, both collectively and individually.
Children’s Yoga with Tara
Tara Rachel has been a pioneer of children’s yoga in the Boston area. She has worked professionally with children since 1989. She has developed her own approach to children’s yoga; which is simply, yet uniquely a synthesis of education, developmental movement and yogic teachings; and has been teaching yoga to young people from the ages nursery through high school since 1997. She obtained a in Early Childhood Education (N-3) from Simmons College in 1991. She became a certified Montessori Teacher in 1992. Tara Rachel was introduced to Waldorf Education in 1997 while implementing her first children’s yoga program at a Waldorf inspired school. She completed the two- year Foundations Study Course in Waldorf Education in 2005 and now holds an from Antioch Graduate University in Waldorf Education.
