Teresa Dornellas took her first Yoga class on the Upper West Side of Manhattan about 18 years ago, but it took her some 8 more years to fully commit to it, and start to really experience the difference that Yoga can make in our lives.
She was blessed to take classes with some of the most gifted teachers in Bergen County: Cathy Konciak, Carrie Parker, JoAnne Lamaire and Nicole DiSalvo, among others. Those teachers inspired her and helped to guide her from a physical into a deeply spiritual practice. She is incredibly thankful to have some of these teachers as part of the Studio 108 team!
In 2008, Teresa graduated from Bright Spirit Yoga Teacher Training and has been teaching group and private classes ever since. In 2013, Teresa graduated from Pilates Shop Teacher Training – Mat 1. Her classes are deeply rooted in kindness, compassion and humor, with special attention to alignment and safety.
Her main focus is balance: physical, emotional, spiritual balance. Life can be demanding and pull us in a number of different directions, so it’s important to take breaks from the busyness to recenter and reconnect with our true selves, shed all of our roles, forget about expectations, give up the stories we make in our own minds, and allow ourselves to connect to something higher than us — one moment at a time.
Teresa is a 200-hour E-RYT (Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher) and a member of the Yoga Alliance.
