I have been a student of yoga since 1999. Yoga had such a strong and positive impact on my life that I wanted to pass it on through becoming a teacher myself. Completing my yoga training whilst bringing up two small children has been a challenge and a joy! My main teaching is Hatha yoga, practising the physical postures (asana) to develop strength and correct alignment, with a strong focus on breathing exercises (pranayama) emphasising awareness of the breath as well as technique. Meditation and relaxation form a large part of my classes. My intention as a teacher is to help students acquire an awareness of the body and breath and to work towards strengthening the body, calming the mind, opening the heart and cultivating balance in the face of life’s challenges and find deeper access to one’s joy and potential. I also teach Restorative Yoga and Yoga for Pregnancy.

lovely classes with genuine focus on individual needs

Whenever I can make Theresa's class I do, and I always feel so glad I've been! The classes are well planned, manageable whilst still challenging, friendly and never competitive. I have been recovering from cancer treatment, and this class has helped me regain a sense of wellbeing, spiritual and physical.

Pregnancy yoga with Theresa

I attended Theresa's pregnancy yoga class while expecting my second child and loved it. It is a great balance of pregnancy specific stretching and breathing exercises which are useful for labour and birth, along with ample relaxation/meditation time. I looked forward to it every week of pregnancy and no matter how tired I may have been on arriving at class, in always felt a sense of wellbeing on completing a session. I would highly recommend.

Theresa is the reason I do yoga!

Theresa is a fabulous teacher - I had tried yoga on and off for years and it had never 'stuck'. But after my first class with Theresa I felt like I finally 'got' it, and began to see why people say they can't live without it.
Theresa has a lovely style that strikes a good balance between exertion (so you feel like you have actually moved/stretched) and relaxation. She is really responsive to the interests and needs of the individuals in the class, and adapts the class to these. She is great at encouraging you to try something new, and also provides options so you can go into something gradually, building confidence as you go.
I can't recommend Theresa highly enough and can't imagine my week without her!
