After being introduced to yoga in high school I left and returned to yoga various times through my twenties. I finally returned to my yoga practice in 2010 as a means to lose weight and to find stress relief, however I earned much more. I began to reconnect with myself both physically and spiritually; as my practice deepened I began to realize the benefits of yoga not only on the mat but off the mat. My practice assisted me in working through personal issues I’d suppressed, helping me move on and grow. The desire to share my experience and love for yoga led me to pursue and achieved my 200 hour certification from Long Island Yoga School under the guidance of Laurie Ahlemann. My teaching style is fun but firm, I like to keep my classes light and energetic – constantly reminding my students that yoga should fun. I press my students to their edge showing them they can do much more than they ever realized, at the same time I gain much joy from watching them gain strength, agility and a sense of calm from a consistent practice. I’ve continued to expand my knowledge by gaining Yin Yoga Certification with Corina Benner and by pursuing my 300 hour certification with Laurie Ahlemann and the wonderful teachers at Long Island Yoga School.
