Tiggy's style of yoga is a mix of vinyasa yoga with anusara alignment and buddhist themes, all served with a twist of irreverence! She believes that the practice of yoga is to become a kinder person to yourself and to others and to move you into the space of awareness of yourself as infinite, eternal and loving.

Tiggy feels gratitude for her first yoga teacher, James Hasemer, who twenty years ago had just completed his teacher training. Friends banded together to encourage him in his new vocation. After a few months of a weekly class, she had a significantly increased sense of focus and wellbeing, as well as significantly reduced levels of anxiety and period pain.

Yoga continues to make life rosy, from giving energy, bringing peace and joy and being the conduit to meeting fabulous people. More recently, a regular meditation practice has transformed life for the better even more.

After beginning in Iyengar yoga, she then spent two years exploring the Ashtanga sequence. By geographical chance, she then discovered Synergy yoga, with its unique fusion of Eastern tradition and Western science. She is ever grateful for the knowledgable, generous and inspiring teachings of Simon Borg-Olivier, her most revered and influential teacher.

In 2009, she completed a 500 hour yoga teacher training course at Byron Yoga Centre. Then during overseas work and travel, she worked her way through Anusara immersions and teacher trainings with Jonas Westring. During this time she developed a strong appreciation for John Friend's Universal Principles of Alignment and Tantric philosophy.

Other yoga asana influences have been Nevine Michaan, Elena Brower, Andrew Rivin, Kathryn Budig, Tiffany Cruikshank, Amy Ippoliti, Schuyler Grant, Sianna Sherman, Simon Lowe, Les Levanthal, Ana Forrest.

Her meditation pathway began with Brahma Kumari and Vipassana centres. More recently she has been on retreats and yatras that are part of Insight Meditation. Other significant influences have been Jack Kornfield and Sally Kempton.

Tiggy combines her love of travel and yoga to offer Reconnection Reteats with fellow teachers Clive and Antje, and to teach classes wherever she happens to be in the world.

My favorite yoga teacher ever!

Tiggy has a way of making you comfortable, no matter your ability or level of experience. She expains things clearly, without overwhelming you with instruction. The class is easy to follow, while still having a smooth upbeat pace and really getting us to work up a sweat. She gently reminds you to stay aware of your breathing, without her makiing it the focus of her instuctions. Her humor is interjected between many spirtual suggestions that always left me feeling happy, calm and satisfied with myself, the class and life. I truly enjoyed my week with her in Siem Reap more than I have ever enjoyed any yoga class anywhere. I only wish I could take her with me on all my journeys!

Dare to be Awesome

Yoga with Tiggy was everything I wanted. Her strength (both inner and outer) shine through as she confidently guides you through an exciting practice. She knows how to speak to you that you're not afraid to challenge yourself, while also giving you the security to know where you're at is just fine. Her personality and smile will make you come back for more!

Technically precise, fun, friendly and easy to understand

Working towards growing my own private daily practice I've had the pleasure of doing some intensives with Tiggy over the last couple of years.

I've learnt more in the few weeks training with her than I have over many years in other classes and with other instructors. Her sensible clear explanations of why you're trying to align your body a certain way are something I come back to time and time again when I'm struggling with poses.
She's incredibly friendly, supportive and pushes you when she thinks you can take it to the next level.

Effervescent juice infused with humor & spice

Imagine the bubbly, crispy clean sound of champagne infused with classy tart fruit notes and you've pictured yourself in one of Tiggy's classes. Her strength, her great sense of humor and her ability to dummy down difficult poses help you to move past fear and step into possibility allowing you to juice up your practice. If you've never taken one of her classes, you are in for a treat. She's a super charged package of energy and light, which she transfers onto her students leaving you balanced, confident and zen. I think her classes are the perfect remedy for deepening your practice whilst having fun on your mat. Highly recommended!
