Toni Mar holds a master’s degree in kinesiology and has been on faculty in the Physical Education Program at UC Berkeley for seventeen years. She integrates the empiricism of exercise and sport science with the “Beginner’s Mind” of Eastern thought in her philosophy and approach towards optimizing health, fitness, wellness and sports performance.
Toni received her teacher training from David Swenson. Her background and experience in physical therapy and rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, intensive care, sports medicine, special populations and therapeutic massage collectively provide an interdisciplinary learning experience for her students and student-athletes. Her work spans the Berkeley YWCA and the UC community including intercollegiate varsity athletics, sports clubs, and professional athletes. She is also active in donating her time to raise awareness and revenue for local charitable organizations.
