Tonya Keach, certified in Kripalu and prenatal yoga, began practicing yoga in 1997 and teaching classes in 2001. Her classes blend postures & breathing, as well as reflection, intention, and the occasional chanting. This brings a meditative quality to her teaching style. Tonya’s classes guide students to trust their boundless inner wisdom and surrender to the flow of life moving through them, as them. Students are reminded that yoga is not merely a practice, but also a path. This helps to inspire her students to carry the peace of their practice into their lives, and into the world.

Tonya & yoga changed my life…

I have been blessed - the moment I stepped into my very first yoga class with Tonya about 3-4 years ago. She is a guiding light to my day, my life! My life is forever changed because of her. Her style is calming, positive, loving, caring, & so genuine. One cannot go to her class without feeling blessed, changed, loved, & so much better because of the way she she touches EVERY student EVERY day! LOVE HER!!!!

After a long hiatus from yoga and a diagnosis of fibromyalgia I returned to a studio and was fortunate enough to attend a Tonya class. She blends athleticism and spirituality seamlessly, encourages her students to listen to their bodies and asks for suggestions from students to help tailor the class to their needs. The latter of which I've seen few instructors do. Furthermore her caring, nurturing, friendly nature make her a delight to practice with and her BodyTalk energy work is soothing, restorative and invigorating.

Tonya is my favorite yoga teacher

I have done yoga with Tonya for over a year. She has been very supportive as I learn the practice as a beginner. Tonya believes in balance in yoga between the mind and the body, which makes her classes well-rounded. I feel refreshed mentally and physically. Tonya is a caring, positive yoga instructor. She cares about people and wants them to get the most they can from their yoga practice.

Tonya is a gift!

Tonya was the first yoga teacher I experienced in town and she is still my favorite instructor. I leave her classes feeling good both physically and spiritually.
Tonya always seems to give me just what I need even though I am not the only person in the class. She always asks class members if they have special requests and most other teachers do not.

A lifeline during my pregnancy

I worked with Tonya during my entire pregnancy and wouldn't have made it through with such ease without her help. Her pre-natal yoga classes got me through the weeks. She is one of the kindest, most sincere people I have ever met. She taught me so much about grace and listening to my body. Thanks to what I learned in her class I gave birth to a BEAUTIFUL baby boy without the use of any drugs. Tonya kept my mind and body in the right place for having a healthy pregnancy.

Prenatal to lifelong yogi

My doc suggested that I start yoga with my first pregnancy as a way to stay active, but minimize my risks. I was introduced to Tonya in a prenatal class and through her teaching found a connection to myself, my growing baby, and the universe. I found friendships with other new moms and an awareness of my body and its needs. I initially saw yoga as a temporary part of my life, like pregnancy, but through Tonya's guidance helped to incorporate it into my life and still do it today - 8 years later.

Great teacher!

I had practiced yoga at home with videos for several years, but Tonya's was the first class that I took. I already knew a lot of poses, but she helped me modify when I was pregnant and always demonstrates variations for differing abilities and levels. She is a wonderful teacher! She keeps everything flowing while at the same time making rounds to make sure that everyone understands. She is flexible and will often change things around to suit the needs of her students. My favorite thing about her is how loving she is. She makes everyone feel special and wanted, and in turn encourages us to spread that same love and peace into our own little spheres.

When you have the best first, you're always spoiled...

I had the honor of having Tonya has my first yoga instructor from 2004-2008 while I was living in Bloomington. Since I've moved out of state, I've tried several other instructors who just can't hold a candle to the extraordinary love, talent, skill and spiritual connection Tonya brings to her practices. I was back visiting my family in October 2013 and was excited to have three practices with her during that time and will always make a point of connecting with her when I'm in Bloomington.

Tonya is a genuine soul with so much love and compassion to share. Her knowledge of the practice and history is quite extensive and she brings this wealth of information into the practice in a perfect balance. Also, if you haven't had a chance to get some incredible energy work, she has the ability to give beautiful healing with her BodyTalk techniques. I

Honored to practice with her

For years I practiced yoga on my own. I was a bit wary of attending a yoga studio so I began with an eight week introduction to yoga series with Tonya. The class was full of students with varying degrees of experience and interest (from those seeking sangha and contentment to those who simply wanted a 'yoga butt') . She managed to keep the class engaging and informative for all of us.

I began attending more of the classes offered by the studio and even though I enjoyed the classes led by other instructors, Tonya always remained my favorite. She has a nurturing spirit and genuine interest in her students. She seems to lead each class in an effortless sequence of postures that feels tailor made for the group of students. She's capable of leading classes ranging from gentle to challenging. I also love the way that she weaves breath work and chanting to round out the practice.

Tonya is a great teacher. I've followed her from corporate classes to prenatal classes to studio classes. You know she genuinely cares about each and every one of her students and adjusts her classes to meet everyone's needs.

Part of me

I came to Tonya YEARS ago - a prenatal class when I was trying to get pregnant. I've moved away, back again, and away again (and that baby I was trying for is now10!), and our paths have since crossed more than once got various reasons. I can only say that she helped me find a special, quiet place in myself during my short time under her instruction; and I am blessed to have spent time in her class. Do not hesitate to study under Tonya! She has a true gift and a special way about her that shares that gift to everyone she meets.
