After hearing so much about yoga and the great benefits, Tracy decided to give it a shot. Turned out everything she read about yoga was correct. After every class she felt relaxed, rejuvenated, and more in tune with her body. After a few years of on and off practice, Tracy took a class in Belize overlooking the ocean, and everything just clicked. She knew that she wanted to spend the rest of her life sharing the gift of yoga with others.
Once Tracy decided teaching yoga was her passion, she left for Costa Rica for a teacher training program with Marianne Wells Yoga School. During her training, she not only learned about the physical body and how it works in yoga, but she found a mental/spiritual part of the herself and her practice that she didn’t even know existed. She came back from her training with a whole new outlook on life, her purpose for being here, and the way she saw the world around her.
Since receiving her 200 hour teaching certification in 2011, Tracy has been continuing to educate herself on all aspects of yoga. She has since received a certificate in Pre/Post-Natal Yoga and a certificate in Kids Yoga from Total Body Yoga in Mundelein, IL. Tracy believes knowledge is a huge part of being a great teacher, and she strives to keep learning by reading books, and attending workshops, seminars, & trainings.
“You must begin from where you are” is Tracy’s mantra for life. Her teacher passed it on to her, and she continues to pass it on to her students. She believes that regardless of your age, size, or disability, if you can breathe, you can do yoga. Yoga is not just a physical practice, it is a way of life. As in any other aspect of your life, everything should be taken one step at a time to achieve the ultimate reward. In every one of Tracy’s classes, she offer modifications, adjustments, and just plain love and light to all her students, letting them discover what it is “they” came looking to find.
Tracy is registered with the Yoga Alliance and is available for both group and private yoga sessions.
