I believe yoga is for everybody! I was active with dance and gymnastics for many years. In my young adult life I took up running. As a physical therapist, I knew that the balancing exercises in yoga would strengthen my ankles and that I would get more stretching done in a yoga class than I would after a run. This began my journey in yoga.
I found myself returning to the studio/mat more and more. It certainly kept me healthy through marathon training, AND so much more started to open up for me. Through my teacher training and the practice of Baptiste Yoga, I found a happier version of myself. I found confident, courage, patience, and the ability to connect with others with ease. I still dabble with running and other activities, and yoga is the constant in my life. I followed my heart and I now teach yoga full time so that I may empower others to live their greatest life possible.
I primarily teach Baptiste Power Vinyasa yoga which can be modified to meet the needs of any body. With twelve years experience as a physical therapist, I excel in providing clear alignment cues and tailoring the practice to meet my students where they are. As we say in Baptiste yoga, "come as you are, not as you think you should be."
I also spent five years as a professor of functional anatomy and therapeutic exercise in a physical therapy program in Houston, TX (USA). I am passionate about anatomy and yoga and I excel in helping yoga students and teachers understand and apply anatomy to yoga practice. And I ensure fun is had in the process.
Yoga is a way of life that creates change and connection in unimaginable ways. I reside in Singapore and travel the world to teach yoga and for pleasure (which are really both one in the same).
