Valerie initially turned to yoga as a way to strengthen her body, and avoid running injuries. She thought of it simply as exercise, and did not expect it to become a way of life for her. It completely changed the way that she viewed herself, and taught her to have more love and compassion for herself and others.
Valerie completed her 200 hour yoga training at Princeton Center for Yoga and Health in Skillman, NJ in order to deepen her practice. She has also received certifications in Restorative Yoga and Level One of the Little Flower Yoga program for children. She continues to learn as much as she can about yoga as both a teacher and a student.
Valerie strongly believes that yoga is for EVERYONE, and strives to find ways to make it accessible to all, through the use of props and/or modifications. Her classes have a slower pace, holding poses for longer periods of time, and include breath work. She aims to cultivate self-awareness using the body, mind, and breath.
