VIE’S AYURVEDA HISTORY

Vie’s interest into Natural Health was ignited at a very early age by her two grandfathers. One grandfather teaching her the science of medicine at his pharmacy and the other, a world renowned philosopher, scholar and ideological leader of Greece guiding her through the connection between body, mind and soul. Her studies in natural health lead her to focus on Ayurveda in particular. Vie has graduated from both of the top two colleges of Ayurveda, Dr. Lad’s Ayurvedic Institute and Mount Madonna Institute. She has also studied with the top Ayurvedic Teachers in US and Europe, David Frawley (Ayurveda for the Mind), Dr. John Douillard (Ayurvedic Pulse Diagnosis), Dr. Singh (Ayurveda in Integrated Medicine), Dr. Jon Whale (Electronic Gem Therapy and Assemblage Point Theory), John Barnes (Myofascial Release Therapy), Drs Sarita Shreshta and Claudia Welch (Women’s Health), Dr. Vivek Shanbhag (Herbology), Nicolai Bachman (Sanskrit) and Robert Svoboda (Meditation and Kirtan).

She teaches Rāja Āyurveda and Yoga Techniques nationally and internationally. She also continues her writing and research work in the field of Ayurveda and Modern Physics.

VIE’S YOGA HISTORY

Vie began her practice of yoga in 1981 and started teaching in 2006. She has been studying yoga with great teachers in US and Europe, such as Paul Grilley (Yin Yoga, Chakra Theory and Meditation, The Bhagavad Gita), Joseph and Lilian LePage (Integrative Yoga Therapy), Ayurvedic Institute (AyurYoga), Judith Lasater (Restorative), David Frawley (Yoga for the Mind), Sonia Sumar (Yoga for the Special Child Basic and Advanced), Kate Potter (Vinyasa), Baba Hari Das (Ashtanga Yoga “Eight limbs” at Mount Madonna Institute) and Yogi Hari (Sampoorna Yoga). She has also studied the concepts and philosophies behind Bandha Yoga (Raymond Long), ViniYoga Therapy (Gary Kraftsow), Structural Yoga Therapy (Mukunda Stiles), Sivananda, Anusara (John Friend), Iyengar, Bikram, Ashtanga and Jivamukti.

Vie’s goals are to assist the integration of the eight limbs of Yoga into today’s society for general well being along with specific needs.

VIE’S FITNESS HISTORY

Vie began her studies of fitness in 1991 and started training privately and in small group in 2006. She is certified through the International Fitness Professionals Association. Her other certifications consist of Kettlebell Training, Gravity Training System, Vortex Training, Strength and Movement, Twist Conditioning and Youth Fitness.

VIE’S OUTDOOR ADVENTURE HISTORY

Vie’s outdoor adventures started in 1977 paddling through the Mediterranean Sea. She is now a Certified KaYoga instructor and creator of numerous programs related to fitness, yoga and meditation on a Stand Up Paddle Board. Vie has also created “Rāja Āyurveda for Stand Up Paddlers”, “Rāja Āyurveda for Kayakers”, “Rāja Āyurveda for Surfers” and “Rāja Āyurveda for Rock Climbers” along with four accompanying sport specific yoga series.

Vie is the first to offer Stand Up Paddle & Yoga Teacher Training (aka SUP & Yoga), Stand Up Paddle & Yoga Therapy Teacher Training (aka SUP & Yoga Therapy), Advanced SUP & Yoga Teacher Training and Power Yin Teacher Training. She also teaches Stand Up Paddle Guide Trainings (aka SUP Guide) in Basic & Advanced Formats.

Vie’s unique background in math and physics along with her passion of the outdoors will continue to bring more science based healthy practices in a fun and exciting way.
