Wanda DeVaughn, LCSW, E-RYT (500), owner of the Marietta Center for Yoga and Well Being, is a psychotherapist who discovered the amazing benefits of yoga and became certified in Integrative Yoga Therapy in 1997, and later travelled to India to complete her 500 hour certification through the Himalayan Institute. Her classes begin and end with mindfulness or mantra meditation, and include instruction on yogic breathing, asanas, and relaxation. Teaching mindful yoga, she invites non-judgmental awareness on all levels – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. Her classes are generally a flow of postures, sometimes holding a pose for several breaths to explore the nuances within. She emphasizes listening to your own body, and honoring what is right for you in each moment. Her classes are gentle, but you will increase strength, tone, flexibility, focus. You will reduce the effects of stress while deepening your connection with inner wisdom and serenity. Beginning and continuing students are welcome. She enjoys incorporating the rejuvenating effects of Yin yoga and Restorative yoga into classes at times. Email Wanda at
