Wendy’s background and interest in eastern and western philosophy led her to explore and study the workings of the mind, body and subtle energies of the universe. After exploring the philosophies and meditative practices from several traditions, she found her peace in Zen meditation and yoga. Her meditation practice calmed her monkey mind, brought her haphazard life back into one piece and led her to realize her true calling: to teach and share what she has learnt about yoga and meditation.
She completed the yoga instructor training programme by Institute of Vivekenanda Yoga and Research Development in 2009 and started teaching yoga. In order to pursue a deeper understanding and knowledge of yoga, she continues to attend various workshops by local and overseas yoga teachers. She visited Mysore, India, exploring Ashtanga Yoga at K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute and attended various workshops by international yoga teachers such as the Yin Yoga and Anatomy workshop by Paul and Suzy Grilley and Advanced Teacher Training in Chinese Medicine and Myofascial Release by Tiffany Cruikshank. She completed a RYT 200hr Ashtanga Vinyasa Teacher Training by It’s Yoga Thailand and is a certified Kids Yoga Teacher by Rainbow Kids Yoga. She is the founder and director of Yoga Seeds Pte Ltd, a yoga events, retreats and training company based in Singapore.
Wendy hosts regular yoga retreats in Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. When she’s not travelling, she’s back home in Singapore, teaching in various settings, including corporate yoga classes, yoga for children, private yoga sessions, regular studio sessions and also community classes for the underprivileged. In fact, she teaches anywhere that she can unroll her mat! Her style of yoga is a unique blend of Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga, with emphasis on the breath in both movement and stillness.
