Wendy Maines has practiced yoga for over a decade, starting in law school as a means for calming frazzled nerves. Seeing the peaceful benefits of this mind/body expression, she continued on the path. As yoga is her personal culmination of spiritual and physical expansion, she became a 200 hour Yoga Alliance registered teacher through the holistic program at Pure Prana Yoga Studio in Alexandria, Virginia.
Wendy is also certified in pre-natal yoga, and received her 500 hour certification through Tranquil Space studio in Washington, DC. She offered her thesis on Purpose, Postures and Prayer: Yoga as Experiential Worship.
Wendy shares a vinyasa based practice infused with elements of strength, grace and gratitude. She lives in Alexandria, Virginia with her husband and daughter. They both add a blessed element to her daily practice. Jai!
On the mat, Wendy’s philosophy is “teach to serve”. Off the mat, you’ll find her with nose in a book, trying out new veggie recipes, hanging with her family in Del Ray, and not fixating on the seemingly limitless resource of dirty dishes.
