My name is West,
I found yoga after sustaining a traumatic injury while in the military in 2009. It wasn’t long before the realization that pain medication and a western style of medicine weren’t going to heal my body and mind. In fact, this method does the direct opposite of healing a body. After six years of practicing and patiently tending to my injuries, I can honestly and confidently say that I’ve healed myself through self-practice and the teachings of my guru.
A regular Asana practice encourages our bodies and minds back to a natural state of health and vibrant equanimity. It's my intention to hold a space that encourages honest self-reflection, linking breath, movement, and self-expression in the flow.
I am licensed by the Yoga Alliance community in Ashtanga and Hatha. I completed a 300 RYS certification course with Rishikul YogShala in Rishikesh, India. I also studied 98 hours under BKS Iyengar’s disciple of 27 years, BK Badri in Mysore, India. I was lucky enough to learn Mysore-style Ashtanga, yogic anatomy, adjustments and pranayama under a master in this practice.
Embrace what’s authentic, be honest with your person and Lift your heart. We are all students, no matter where we are within our practice.
