I am a yoga and meditation teacher currently living in Kandy, Sri Lanka. I received most of my training in India, Sri Lanka, and the US over the last 17 years. In 1999 I began my yogic journey in India with concentration meditation which included breath work, visualizations, Vedic and Buddhist textual study, OAM chanting, and the discipline of sitting in meditation position. A few years later I began to incorporate the investigation of dhamma (dharma), such as vipassana, into my practice. In the last few years I have also been practicing forms of deep relaxation and Metta chanting.
I attended a Vinyasa Hatha yoga teacher training course by YogaFit in 2008, and from 2008 onward I have taught yoga. In the US I taught at three studios over a 5 year timeframe including private lessons. In 2013 I attended a Hatha yoga intensive teacher training in India by Samyak yoga and in 2014 I began a MPhil in Buddhist Studies at the University of Peradeniya in Sri Lanka. In addition, from 2014 to 2015 I provided yogic training in postures and breath-work to Buddhist monks and nuns attending Peradeniya's Buddhist Studies academic program.
