Willow Olson found her yoga practice in 2007 while working as a hair stylist and starting her college studies in Community Health Sciences. In a search for tools to help regulate her stress, anxiety and physical health she tried out yoga. She felt liberated and connected to strength within her that she had never felt before and was inspired to continue practicing. In January 2013, she completed her 200hr Vinyasa training and has been enjoying teaching yoga to classes of adults, families, and children ever since. Her curiosity for yoga’s seemingly vast therapeutic healing capacity continues to inspire her studies and yoga trainings. Her trainings with the Off the Mat Into the World Organization have given her the tools of resource needed to teach yoga as a form of complimentary therapy for trauma, physical ailments and mental stress.
Prepare to challenge yourself while being reminded to stay present and connected within your mind, body and spirit in her classes. Willow works to create progressive and fun, yet safe and grounded sequences depending on the wants, needs and levels of the practitioners practice. Practice will flow with the breath through balancing, bending, opening, strengthening, twisting and inverting poses. Yogic philosophy, mantra and mudra as well as Reiki healing energy will be incorporated to assist in relaxation and the understanding of how our mindful yoga practices can provide tools to better our wellbeing off of the mat in our daily life.
