In addition to the physical asana I can:

1. Teach alignment, anatomy, and the "medicine" of yoga for Teacher Trainings and retreats.

2. Provide structural assessments and structural energy therapeutic massage to correct and restore natural alignment. I can also help adjust your regular practice to limit injuries.

3. Teach and Cook Vegan/Gluten Free Thai meals.

My background as an Emergency Department Doctor brings a unique perspective to your practice. Teaching the science of what is happening in the body and mind, while practicing foundational, breath-initiated movements brings you into a whole new meditative and educational space. After spending 15 years treating people with life threatening injuries in the US and Australia, my goal now is guiding you to heal yourself, prevent injuries, lead a healthy life, and reach your fullest potential through simplicity.

I studied Ashtanga in Patnem, India but found my practice and inspiration in Rafael Espinosa’s, Conscious Hatha flow class in Ubud, Bali. I was physically challenged but my mind was no longer wandering from pose to pose and the meditation came to me in the stillness between movements. It was a technically simple class but so powerful.

My intention is to relay this experience in my own unique way and make it accessible to everyone. I do this by creating slow, strong, foundational forms and allowing space for advanced practitioners to explore their own expressions.

As TKV Desikachar said "I must create an atmosphere in my classes in which each student can find his or her own way to yoga. I have to realize that each of my students is not the same person today as they were yesterday, and not at all the same as when they came last week.”

A fount of knowledge!

I have been privileged to both learn from and practice with Wyatt. He is a trifecta of knowledge, compassion and wit! :-) Classes are safe, well-paced, always taught with a thoughtful approach to movement, alignment and introspection. If you have the opportunity to learn from him – do it! He wont just guide you, he will teach you.

Eyes that sparkle with the love of sharing his love of yoga

The energy, love and dedication Wyatt delivers in his class is beautiful and pulls you back to him over and over. It is not seasoned in any set direction but flows with his style every time. His balance of music that plays throughout builds the class perfectly and a few songs have made it to my playlist for funky yoga! Yoga for "Seniors"

We were so lucky to have taken private lessons from Wyatt for about 2 weeks while we were in Bali. Our chance meeting in a local cafe led to a customized and safe practice for "seniors" that we do daily on our home patio with a tape Wyatt gave us for our practice. Thank you Wyatt. We are stronger and healthier because of you.

Thank You

Teaching both of you was a learning experience for myself. If I am truly going to make my classes open to everyone, I need to be able to modify for whatever the obstacle. I am so excited to hear that you guys are keeping up with the practice and can't wait to see you again down the road to see how things are going. I do plan on posting some videos and more audio in the future, you will certainly be the first to know.

A great way to gain knowledge of the body!

I was privileged to work with Wyatt a few times and can tell you that no one I've met exceeds his unique ability to communicate what is happening exactly in the body as you breathe, move, and feel. He is extremely educated in the working of the endocrine and nervous system from a yogic and medical position, and an hour with him will give you an abundance of insight and answer your why behind the what.
Apart from an exceptional experience practicing, his energy is calming and reassuring. I feel safe in Wyatts guidance

Balance in all things

My first time doing a handstand outside was in a yoga practice with Wyatt - a perfect mix of flow, guidance, and positive energy is what lifted my legs into the air. His flexibility (both physically and mentally), along with his experiences as a teacher and in his own inspirational practice, make him a great choice for students at all levels.

Firsts!

I think you and Beth were the first people I taught in the US after my training in India. Certainly the scenery in the Amazing Jackson Hole area and elevation was inspirational to us all. Cant wait to cross paths and show you what I've got now. Stay hydrated :).

Asthanga Class

Only had 1 Class with Wyatt James. I wish I had the opportunity for more classes but Wyatt was on his way to Koh Phangan and only gave one class in the Yogarden in Koh Samui as guest teacher. I really liked his approach to teach Asthanga Yoga res. Vinyasa Flow. He pays a lot of attention to avoid any insurjes, also to avoid insurjes that could come after years of practice. By paying a lot of attention doing the postures correctly as well as adjusting postures individually according to the students body, age ... . I was lucky to have a class with him with only a few students so i really could benefit.
