One way ticket to Nirvana

Possibly the best Yoga teacher (and teacher) I have ever had. Yogatara is an intuitive and gifted teacher. She seems to always know what my body needs. She is gentle, yet builds strength. I always feel centred and emotionally balanced when practising with Yogatara.

In a phrase, yoga with Yogatara is a one way ticket to Niravana.

Isha is a very warm place to spend time. I did some yoga classes there but also went to Yogatara for some counceling. The yoga class was the first one since a very long time and really made me like going to yoga again. The counseling was very gentle so to make me feel confident, at ease and without tension afterwards but still firm enough to give me the room I needed to grow and reflect upon myself.

Yoga classes and counseling by Yogatara are strongly recommended

I have had the pleasure participating in individual yoga sessions with Yogatara. Her approach is very professional, warm and open. Apart from that, I work together with her with clients who suffer from psychological stress. Apart from being a very skilled yoga teacher, Yogatara is a gifted counselor and psychologist who knows perfectly well how to combine all her knowledge in order to benefit her student/client.

yogini sister

Not only this review is based on my personal experience as stated under but as a yoga teacher I have been blessed by YogaTara's collaboration during my own activities and I can vouch for her competence and skills. She is by all mean one of the most learned and seasoned yoga practitioner and teacher in Kathmandu valley, beyond doubts. In addition she is a lovely person and students always feel comfortable with her and ask for more. Would you want to experience what the original Sw. Satyananda Saraswati lineage stands for, go no further.

beautiful yogini

Yogatara is for me one of the wonderful teachers that offers classes that allow to dive in deep. She has the ability to teach both beginners and advanced students, offering hints how an easy asana can be challenging for old practitioners too. I love her yoga nidras at the end of the class in which I go deep into my innerself. She is the perfect mixture between totally grounded in life and deep spirituality.

Yoga in its full meaning

I have taken a number of both group and private classes, and a yoga retreat, with Yogatara and consider her the best teacher I have ever had - and I have tried many teachers in Nepal and Thailand! My knowledge and understanding of yoga grew immensely under the guidance of Yogatara, as she teaches yoga in its full form (as a philosophy and a way of life). Her teachings combine physical practice with mental and psychological benefits and it's difficult to say which ones are greater.

Even more than the contents of her classes, I love the way Yogatara teaches: her loving and smooth voice, her subtle guidance (she manages to teach without demonstrating and while students keep the eyes closed, thus making the practice totally individual), her attention to the students (adapting the classes to students' needs and feelings), the spiritual aspects of the practice, the environment (the yoga room and its energy), and her her willingness to welcome students with different economic capacities. Despite her vast knowledge and experience, Yogatara is a very humble person which makes it easy to approach her and open up with her. And she always has very wise and grounded advice! I am grateful to her for the yoga and life guidance which she has provided me over the past 3 years.

The class to look inside you and carry it into the world

Yogatara's classes have a strong spiritual fundament. You can feel the year-long experience, knowledge and passion but there is also a very relaxed and fun atmosphpere in the classes. You will feel comfortable and at home - the way you are! Her classes are definitely nothing for action yogis and yoginis but a perfect match for people who like harmonious and relaxing yoga (which does not mean it is not challenging!!!).

Her classes have the perfect balance between assanas, breathing and meditation elements. She encourages to develop your own pace and style, minimizing competetion and the pressure of doing everything correctly. Instead you are asked to feel inside your body. Still, she is correcting you, when it is necessary. For me the most fabulous were all the different meditation practices that she offers!
