Half Moon Pose
Half Moon Pose is a standing balancing posture. The Sanskrit name, Ardha Chandrasana, comes from ardha: 'half', chandra: 'luminous' or 'moon', and asana: 'posture'. This pose is great from improving balance and core strength. It also stretches the hamstrings, and strengthens the ankles and thighs. Beginners often like to use a block for Half Moon Pose, or to do the pose near a wall. Variation of this pose, include Revolved Half Moon Pose (Parivrtta Ardha Chandrasana), and Sugarcane Pose (Ardha Chandra Chapasana).
