Low Lunge

Anjaneyasana

Low Lunge, or Crescent Lunge, is a standing hip-opening posture that provides a deep stretch to the quadriceps, hamstrings and hip flexors. It can be an intense pose for the knee, so pay particular attention if you have knee trouble. This posture increases balance, releases tension in the hips and strengthens the legs. The word Anjaneya refers to Anjani, mother of the Hindu god Hanuman.
