Plank Pose


Plank Pose (Phalankasana, from the Sanskrit phalanka: 'plank', and asana: 'posture') is a strengthening posture that has many variations, for example Side Plank, Dolphin Plank, Upward Plank, One-Legged Plank. It is an excellent posture for developing strength in the entire back, the arms, wrists, and the core muscles. Plank Pose is a good prepation for arm balances.
